Purple spots appear on the upper surfaces of leaves. Sometimes, the spots have holes in the center. Many of the spotted leaves are yellow and dying. The undersides of the leaves may be dotted with cream-colored masses of spores. In severe cases, the fruit is also spotted. The tree drops its leaves early, and cherry yield is reduced. The fruit is often soft and watery.
Treat infected trees with a fungicide labeled for cherry leaf spot, following label directions.
