Problem: Book Lice

Problem Info
Book lice live in warm, damp, undisturbed places. Numerous tiny insects the size of a pinhead can crawl in stored food products or around books or may emerge from behind walls for several months after construction of a building. They run along surfaces in a hesitating, jerky manner.
Solution Advice
Dry out infested areas of the home with ventilation. If book lice are in the food pantry, search for and throw out any infested food. Ventilation and artificial heat can aid in drying out cupboards. Book lice will disappear from new homes as the structure dries. Control infested furniture by thoroughly drying the item in sunlight for several days, or, if practical, discarding the infested stuffing.
