Any good garden soil that is rich in organic matter. pH 6.0 to 7.5.
Water when the soil is moist but not wet. For container gardens, add enough water so that it starts to drain from the bottom of the container.
Spring, after all danger of frost is past.
Fertilize withan all-purpose plant food.
Filtered sun to deep shade. Impatiens may be planted in direct sun if they are not allowed to dry out.
