Narcissus (Daffodil, Jonquil)
Throughout the United States.
Any good well-drained garden soil.
Water deeply when the soil is just barely moist. Stop watering the bulbs after the foliage has turned yellow.
When planting, mix 1 teaspoon of bone meal into the soil at the bottom of the planting hole. During the growing season, fertilize with plant food formulated for bulb plants.
Continue to water and fertilize plants regularly until the foliage turns yellow, then remove the dead leaves.
Full sun is best. Daffodils will tolerate light shade, but may stop blooming after several years.
